Tap ages 11+, TBA

lyrical

Tap is an exciting form of dance in which dancers wear special shoes equipped with metal taps. Tap dancers use their feet like drums to create rhythmic patterns and timely beats. The term "tap dancing" is derived from the tapping sound produced when the small metal plates on the dancer's shoes touch a hard floor or surface.

Starchevski School of Ballet Inc. (SSofB) reserves the right to use its former or current student photos, video or the like for publicity and marketing of the school.

SCHEDULE CHANGE

SSofB reserves the rights to change, cancel or substitute dates, classes and schedules. Add or remove faculty members at any time.

ATTENDANCE

Coming to a class on time is very important for all ages. History shows a strong positive correlation between class attendance and grades. Walking into a class 5 or 10 minutes late is disruptive and unfair to the class and your child learning process. We would like all students to come 5 or 10 minutes before the class so the students are prepared for class and they learn from you the most important lesson “to be on time”. Absences and tardiness can hold back an entire class, If you are unable come to the class because your daughter or son is sick or unwell please email school@ssballet.ca or call us at 403 226-8874. If you fail to inform the school we will note this as an unexcused absence. After more than 4 unexcused absences the instructor reserves the right to rearrange the routine, shifting dancers out of a specific dance positions if necessary. The School reserves the rights to suspend any student with more than six unexcused absences within four month. If a student is suspended there will be no refund for the tuition and any other payments or missed classes. Due to the high standards of the ballet classes, regular attendance is mandatory.
We at the Starchevski School of Ballet thank you to all parents and guardians for understanding and support in this matter.
If a dancer‘s absences occur at pivotal times, such as close to performance time, the instructor reserve the right to remove the dancer from a particular performance.

ATENDANCE AND CONDUCT

It is understood that student will reserve his/her time to commit to SSofB classes and performances. Participating in other activities which are in conflict with classes or performances may result in student being dismissed from the school. The school has rights to suspend any student, when the director concludes that a student is disobedient or the behavior of a student has a harmful effect on a person; or a student fails to comply with the school policy. If a student is suspended there will be no refund for the tuition and any other payments.

The parents/guardians are responsible to read the school bulletin board about any information and changes to the school policy.

Dance Gala provides opportunities for all our dancers. In 2015/16 school year we have The Nutcracker performance (December 20, 2015) and Spring Gala (May 13, 2016)

Since the very beginning of our school the performances are part of our training.

Theater production require a team work to produce fine performance. All students are encouraged participate in production held in December and May each year. A detailed newsletter and Parents Consent Form will be presented to all students prior to each production.

The students learn from the very beginning the policies, protocol, and traditions followed in the theater throughout the world.

We thank you to all volunteers for your help and continue support.
